STUDENT PROJECT BUILDING / CAMPUS POLICE DEPARTMENT
Long Beach, California
Client: California State University Long Beach
Architect: David J. Castro, Campus AIA
Budget: $1,036,000
Size: 6,000 SF
Designed to function first as a student financial aid management center and second to be converted to the campus police headquarters, structural and security requirements for the conversion were incorporated in the initial construction. This Butler, pre-engineered building utilizes a combination of structural brick veneer panels and fluted Stylwall panels and features a state-of-the-art HVAC system that allows the temperature to be controlled from any where on campus by cell phone. Bremco was told at the project’s end that they were the first contractor in 7 years to complete a project on time and under budget.
